Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban area in Australia's South East Queensland. It was established in 1967 as "the area contained in the Shires of Landsborough, Maroochy, and Noosa, but excluding Bribie Island." It is located 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Brisbane in South East Queensland, on the Coral Sea coastline, and its urban area stretches for approximately 60 kilometers (37 miles) from Pelican Waters to Tewantin. From the fine wines of Margaret River to the cool-climate varietals of the Great Southern, the south west offers five distinct wine-producing regions to explore.
